Get to know Jesus.
The Gospel of John tells the story of Jesus—who He is, why He came, and what it means to trust Him. If you have a Bible, turn to John in the New Testament. You can also find it in a Bible app.
Today: read John 1.
Take your time with the whole chapter. As you read, ask: What does this show me about Jesus? Notice how people begin to discover who He is, and the invitation to come and see.
Then keep reading through John, a chapter at a time. These passages are helpful places to pause along the way:
- John 3
God moves toward us.
Listen to Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus about new life, God’s love, and why He sent His Son.
- John 10
The Shepherd who knows His sheep.
Consider what Jesus says about knowing His people, laying down His life, and giving eternal life.
- John 20
The Resurrection and an invitation to believe.
Follow the encounters with the risen Jesus, including Thomas’ questions, and notice why John wrote this account.
You can talk to God honestly as you read. Tell Him what you’re wondering, what you’re struggling with, and that you want to know Him. A trusted Christian or a local church can also help you work through your questions.
You don’t have to figure it all out today. Start by getting to know Him.
